
José Manuel Jaén Marichal
After working as an associate attorney at the firm Patton Moreno & Asvat, practicing in the areas of corporate and maritime law, José Manuel assumed the role of General Manager of Assets Trust in 2006, with the vision of integrating the fiduciary services platform with those offered by other companies within the group. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded its client base, ventured into new product and service areas, and played a key role in positioning Assets Trust as one of the most renowned fiduciary firms in the country.
An attorney graduated from Universidad Santa María La Antigua, with a Master’s degree in International Banking and Financial Law from Boston University, José Manuel specializes in advising companies and families in the areas of corporate, trust, banking, and securities law. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with business families, wealth groups, and investors, designing structures that not only safeguard assets but also respond to strategic decisions and long-term objectives.
At the professional level, he contributed to the development of the regulatory framework that currently governs the fiduciary sector and has been consulted on technical matters related to its implementation. He is an active member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and the Panamanian Association of Trust Companies.
